Ok is this normal in May?

Icelanders are getting a bit tired of the never ending winter. It is snowing in Iceland. As a friend recently said. Icelandic weather can be summed up in one word: Surprise!

Icelandic weather is having several seasons in one day and even in one picture. Here it is snowing in the sun.

I just love when you can see different weathers in the same area. Here it is raining heavily as the moist air must climb up from the valley floor. Meanwhile it is sunny in the valley openings.

Did you know that they can predict the weather? If their pee is yellow, then tomorrow will be sunny. If it is clear, then it will rain. Scientific stuff you know.

Icelandic weather is touring the US with a unique display of snow, wind and cold.

Icelandic officials have proudly announced that they are sending a small sampler of Icelandic weather to the US in the next couple of days. Since this is simply a friendly gesture they will not be showing much might and will restrict wind speeds to 17m/s (40mph), an Icelandic mild breeze. However a good deal of snow will be dumped in several cities to give Americans a chance to experience Icelandic winter driving. Asked whether this would not be too much since people in these cities don’t have winter tires, the officials said: “We hadn’t thought about that.” The US National Weather Service did not appreciate this Icelandic gesture and has given these directions to US citizens: “Do not travel! Stay inside! Strong winds and blinding snow will make travel nearly impossible. This is a life threatening storm.”

A limited number of Icelandic immigrants will help keep major US cities running throughout the breeze.

The weather is expected to tour throughout the Midwest.

The truth about the weather in Iceland.

It’s not as sunny as in pictures. The northern lights are not always visible. The snow is usually not powdery. It’s pretty cold outside if your not bathing in a hot spring. The wind will probably topple you over a few times. Waterproof clothing is not waterproof in Iceland. Rain comes at you horizontally not vertically and umbrellas are useless. You might get snowed in one day and flooded the next. The darkest mist is an ash mist. Mind the volcanoes.
