Ever lay down in a hot river in snow and wind? It’s wonderful, just remember to keep your hat on.

Blue Lagoon Chill
Iceland’s iconic tourist destination, The Blue Lagoon, became the hottest place in Iceland in more ways than one today. The Blue Lagoon Chill, a sort of hangover party marked the end of the Iceland Airwaves music festival, just like last year. On the photo, DJ Margeir, who kept up the vibe takes a ride on a Blue Lagoon wave.

These mud pots are the oddest thing on our planet. 24/7 these bowls of boiling mud make the oddest sounds. Have you ever heard thick mud boil? Probably not. It boils really slowly causing a ridiculous deep base sound.

I did not know that this existed. This is a sculpture in the town of Seltjarnarnes, practically a suburb of Reykjavík. The sculpture’s name is Kvika and was designed by Ólöf Nordal and erected in 2005. It has a constant flow of hot water intended for foot baths or playing kids. Apparently you can cram a person in it as well. This is in within a healthy walking distance of downtown Reykjavík.
