Fjallsárlón

The Fjallsárlón lagoon is a less known neighbor of the famous Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. The lagoon is in many ways cooler than Jökulsárlón. There are not as many large ice bergs floating around in it, but the view up the steep glacier descending into the lagoon from the Öræfajökull glacier is amazing.

Fjallsárlón

This is a beautiful glacier lagoon, often passed with little notice. It lies only a few kilometers from the much more famous Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. However it is no less beautiful. Just look for a small sign by the side of the road, shortly before you arrive in Jökulsárlón if headed east. The giant lagoon is only a few hundred meters from the road, but hidden by a small hill.
