I don’t think we need to worry.

A second visit to Iceland in 2014 is in the works. We flew in Keflavik and only stayed in Reykjavik for the 6 short days we were there. We are planning on a two-three week visit, flying in and renting a car. Would you recommend us flying into Akureyri renting a car and working our way back down to Reykjavik, or start in Reykjavik and work our way up to Akureyri? I must see the North of Iceland, should our route be through the middle or of the coasts? I must see Dettifoss and glaciers. thanks :)

A very different Iceland video

Bam Margera from Jackass made the headlines in Iceland last summer when he was accused of having stolen a Toyota Landcrusier rental car. Eventually it turned out that had just missed his flight and decided to hold onto the car for a few extra days without telling anybody. When he finally did return it, he was however required to pay over 1 million ISK ($8,000) for damage. Turns out he’d decided to paint the interior of the car…

Anyways he made this video of his trip. Don’t watch it if you are disturbed by naked people and Jackass style obscenity.

By the way, are Iceland tattoos on the wrist a new trend? The tattoo he gets in the video reads “Reykjavík 17/6/2012 Ótrúlegt”. Ótrúlegt is Icelandic for unbelievable.

“We were just flipping”

A group of Icelandic gymnasts were playing around after training, when they tried kicking footballs from the high bar. To their surprise, after a few tries, they were able to kick it with quite some precision. That’s when they decided to film it and gymnast Jón Sigurður Gunnarsson managed to kick the ball into a nearby basketball basket four times in a row. The reason they used four balls was to hopefully make one basket, but a mix of luck and skill allowed them to basket all four balls.

By the way, this is filmed in the same gymnastics hall as Retro Stefson’s odd Kimba gymnastic music video.

Icelandic Governments from 1971 Onwards

Ever since 1971 the Icelandic government has sat by the same table and after every shuffle of ministers, a photo of the ministers is taken. The President of Iceland is the one sitting at the end of the table and as you can see, there have been three of them during this period. The first is Kristján Eldjárn, the second is Vigdís Finnbogadóttir (World’s first democratically elected female head of state) and the third is the current Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson.

Now, i'm from Argentina, and i'm thinking on visit Iceland in Feb. becouse i'll be traveling, and it's like a dream coming true.
