Photo of Cruise diving in Iceland or maybe not…
Tom Cruise has been filming in Iceland for the past few weeks. A few days ago one of the Icelandic news sites posted this picture taken from Connor Cruise’s sons Instagram. Apparently the picture was supposed to have been taken by the divemaster while Tom and Connor were diving in Silfra.
The story wouldn’t be all that interesting if my friend hadn’t recognized the photo this morning. The picture is actually of my friend, Guðjón Benfield, diving in Silfra. That didn’t quite fit Connor’s quote: “Our dive master took this of me as I was inverted just underneath the surface.”
Now the diving company, dive.is, is saying the whole thing is a mistake and it was them that accidentally sent Cruise Guðjón’s photos. The other photos Cruise posted weren’t as spectacular (photo 1, photo 2)
Oh well… All in all it is a pretty cool photo. But then Silfra is an amazing place and extremely photogenic.
